What is interlibrary loan? Interlibrary loan services provide the library's patrons access to materials from other institutions to meet
research needs.
Who may make requests? Current NWU students, faculty, and staff may make borrowing requests for materials not held in the collection, or
items that are checked out.
How may I request materials? Please use our online form. Patrons may also request interlibrary
loan materials by completing and signing forms available in the Public Services area of the library.
What type of materials are available? Items typically available through interlibrary loan include journal articles and most books (unless
these are on our shelves currently). Please check the catalog carefully before placing a request. If you need help, contact the circulation desk staff (465-2400).
NOTE!! Many articles are in Adobe Acrobat format when sent to patrons. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, please download it here.
What items may not be available? Other materials, such as audio- and videotapes, rare books, reference books, books with a current year
copyright, computer software, and popular current novels, typically will not be available through interlibrary loan.
